🎨 Meet Mary Carter!
Mary paints small, detailed portraits of animals β€” tame and wild β€” and landscapes in acrylic with the tiniest brushes.
She works from photos, including commissioned pet portraits, and since she's also a picture framer, every piece comes matted and framed just right.

Stop in to see her work in person!

🎨 TAG Artist Spotlight: Tom Yazzie β€” Jewelry Artist

Tom is a Navajo artist who blends traditional silversmithing techniques with a contemporary twist. His designs pair hand-cut gemstones and raw minerals with metal work that is both uncomplicated and multifaceted.

What makes Tom's path really special? He started with a degree in classical guitar from NAU, then went back for a fine arts degree in metalsmithing, and is now working on a third degree in sculpture. That dedication to his craft shows in every piece he creates.

Stop in and see his beautiful work in person.

Day 4!
Today's journey took me from Oklahoma City to Springfield, Missouri! (I'm almost there!) I stopped just outside of Tulsa at Keystone State Park, which is a place I *thought* I had never been to before. When i got there, memories started flooding back. It's a long story, but some of those memories can still make me cry.
I wanted to make a painting to share the feelings, and a tonalist painting, created through a method of "subtractive painting" was just the way to do it.
How'd i do? Does it feel like old memories to you?

🌟 TAG Artist Spotlight:
Joan Pevarnik β€” Ceramic Artist

Joni has been making one-of-a-kind pots for one-of-a-kind people since 1976!
She makes her own glazes and throws every pot by hand, so no two pieces are ever the same. Most of her work is functional β€” mugs, bowls, vases β€” and she loves knowing her pieces are being used and enjoyed by people all over the world every single day.

Stop in and pick out your new favorite piece or the perfect gift for graduation or Mother’s Day πŸŽ“ πŸŽ€
