Last night’s Artist Reception for Guilding the Mint: Transformation at the Mint Museum was truly special. The exhibit was filled with beautiful artwork, meaningful conversations, and so many familiar faces as artists, friends, family, and supporters came together to celebrate creativity and artistic practice. It was wonderful to see the galleries filled with so much enthusiasm and support for the arts.

I am deeply honored to have my painting, Where Light Lingers, included alongside such an inspiring collection of work by fellow artists. Seeing so many people engaging with the artwork and sharing in the experience made the evening especially meaningful.

A heartfelt thank you to the Mint Museum, the Guild of Charlotte Artists, and the many volunteers and organizers who worked behind the scenes to make this exhibition possible. Your dedication creates opportunities for artists to connect, grow, and share their work with the community.

The exhibition is on view through August 23, so if you weren’t able to attend the reception, I hope you’ll take time to visit and experience this remarkable collection of artwork before it’s gone. If you make it to the show, I’d love to hear which piece resonates with you most.

Some places stay with you long after you've returned home.

"A Walk Along Marginal Way" was inspired by a summer anniversary trip my husband and I took to Ogunquit, Maine. We were captivated by the power of the waves crashing against the rocky shoreline and the dramatic beauty of the Marginal Way cliff walk. I wanted to capture that feeling of standing at the edge of the coast—the salty air, the rhythm of the waves, and the awe that comes from witnessing nature's strength and beauty.

I'm honored that the original painting has been selected for the Guild of Charlotte Artists' juried exhibition, Look and See, at the Cain Center for the Arts, on view June 23–August 8. If you're local, I'd love to see you at the opening reception on June 25 from 6:30–8:30 PM.

Still trying to wrap my head around this one. 🤯⚽️💛

The energy in Times Square during the Brazil World Cup matchup was absolutely electric — a literal sea of yellow as fans gathered in excitement, celebration, and anticipation. The passion for the beautiful game was impossible to miss.

And somehow... in the background of this incredible moment of global excitement was my “Morning Glory” painting.

Unreal.

This amazing photo, captured by La Arenga del Abuelo and generously shared with me, documents so much more than a soccer crowd. It captures joy, connection, culture, and the way art can unexpectedly become part of someone’s story. I will truly cherish it.

I’m incredibly grateful to ArtPop and OUTFRONT for this opportunity and the extraordinary exposure they provide artists.

To think that artwork created right here in my Fort Mill, South Carolina studio became part of the visual backdrop of a global celebration in the heart of Times Square feels almost impossible to believe.

Art has a funny way of traveling farther than we ever expect.

Some moments are so beautiful, you wish they would stay just a little longer.

Where Light Lingers captures a glimpse of the Lowcountry at golden hour—that quiet moment when the sun slips low, light dances across the water, and waves gently meet the shore.

This 48" × 36" acrylic painting reflects the warmth, softness, and stillness of a Carolina sunset, inviting you to pause and remember the feeling of being there.

I'm honored that the original painting will be on display—and available for purchase—at the Mint Museum in Uptown Charlotte from June 17 through August 23 as part of Guilding the Mint: Transformation. I'd love to see you at the Opening Reception on June 17 from 6–9 p.m.

The original painting of "Summer Reflections in the Low Country" has found its forever home, but I'm always grateful when a piece continues its journey through prints.

When I created this piece, I wasn't trying to paint every blade of grass or every reflection in the water. I wanted to capture the feeling of a Lowcountry evening—the warmth in the air, the glow of the sunset, and the way the marsh seems to come alive with color as the day comes to a close.

One of the things I love most about collecting art is that it becomes part of your story. Homes change. Rooms evolve. Life moves through different seasons. The artwork that speaks to you has a way of moving with you.

Overbooked

This large-scale self-portrait emerged during a season when I was balancing the roles of mother, student, partner, and artist—often feeling as though time itself had become fragmented.

Throughout the composition, layered marks, repetition, and embedded timestamps move across and through the figure, reflecting the constant overlap of responsibilities and the challenge of being fully present in each one. The face is divided between warm and cool color fields, suggesting the tension between outward activity and inward reflection.

What interests me most about this piece is that it isn't a portrait of appearance as much as it is a portrait of experience. The marks become moments accounted for, the timestamps become evidence of passing hours, and the painting itself becomes a record of navigating competing demands within a finite amount of time.

Perhaps that's why this piece resonates with so many people—most of us know what it feels like to have more demanded of us than time seems willing to give.

Watch this artwork come to life—from the first sketch to the final brushstrokes added live at Taste of Fort Mill.

It was an honor to create this piece inspired by the energy, flavor, and community spirit of this special event. One of my favorite parts of the experience was adding the finishing details while talking with guests and sharing my creative process.

From the first sketch to the final brushstroke ✨

It was an honor to create this artwork for Taste of Fort Mill. Inspired by the energy, flavor, and community spirit of this special event, the piece celebrates the people and experiences that bring us together.

One of my favorite parts of the experience was adding the final details during this year’s event, talking with guests, and sharing my creative process as the painting came to life.
