Hopkins Historical Society The Hopkins Historical Society documents, preserves and classifies historical records, interprets material unique to our local history.

Stop by during our open hours or contact us for an appointment. Since its founding in 1972, the Hopkins Historical Society has been dedicated to preserving the history of the Hopkins community, acting as a resource center for over 5000 photographs depicting historical Hopkins, including county fairs, the annual Hopkins Raspberry Festival, local schools and economic development. The Hopkins Historical Society documents, preserves and classifies historical records, interprets material unique to our local history, gathers artifacts and materials to exhibit the story of Hopkins and serves as community historians to children and adults.

What fun it is to hear about Hopkins businesses over 100 years ago that most of us didn't know about or remember. Wright's Berry Box Factory was located on the NW corner of 7th Ave and now Mainstreet. Given all of our raspberry fields, it probably had something to do with them locating in Hopkins!

Our museum window displays are in the hallway just outside the museum entrance. You are able to enjoy them whenever the Hopkins Activity Center is open. We have a new display featuring Hopkins High School 1930s to 1960s. We have a huge selection of year books - and welcome donations - if you want to take a trip down memory lane.

Over the years, Hopkins has had a public library in four different locations since 1912. During the month of October you can see a display of the 114-year public library history at the Hopkins Library located at 22 - 11th Avenue North. To create their display, the library staff visited the Hopkins Historical Society to research our documents, files and photos. Thank you for sharing Hopkins' history!
