well we’ve reached what is normally the dreariest, most uncomfortable part of the winter - dark, slushy, freezing cold. this year is particularly brutal - and i don’t mean just the weather… but i remind myself of the words of Alberta Camus: In the depths of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.

well i’m pleased to finally be able to announce the introduction of our new mini sizes! these small size perfumes work just like their full-size counterparts with rollerballs and fully functional sprayers. each contains about a month’s worth of scent so they’re an excellent way to get to know a new scent or to always have a bit of one of your favorites close to hand. now because the rollerball in the absolute minis is smaller than the full-sized version, you may need to do an extra pass or two to hit the right level but otherwise you’ll be good to go! we’ve spent MONTHS testing this new packaging - dragging them around in bags and pockets and NO leaks! you can find all the currently available minis on our website now!

How I Spent My Winter Vacation.
alright so,i never actually have a “winter cation” i just work quietly through the lull amongst the holidays. these are some previews of a new project we’re about to launch. photography is happening even as we speak and everything should be ready to go next week! please keep an eye peeled!

i’ll admit this has not been an easy project to accomplish given the outrageous atrocities currently happening in this country but i MUST keep going. and i will. RESIST and never let the bastards get you down. Elbows Up People!

for the past several years we’ve been working to make everything here as sustainable as possible. what you see here is our latest improvement - we’ve managed to replace the roller balls in our absolutes with metal ones. these can be popped 0ut and recycled with metal when you’re done with em. there are still bits of plastic left in the ball housing and in our atomizers (the sprayers on our water perfumes) but i gather from our suppliers they are looking into more biodegradable options that will make them more fully recyclable. that bit i think will,take some time but there is currently a great deal of positive work on fully biodegradable plastic materials being done (mostly abroad which should come as no surprise). in the meantime, we’ve gotten rid of styrofoam peanuts, plastic bubble wrap, vinyl labels and plastic packing tape. every little bit helps! best wishes! cb

The reason for this sale is frankly a little strange - i’m celebrating good health news. after more than four years of increasingly frequent and severe bouts of debilitating pain episodes and being tested for everything under the sun, my flock of doctors finally discovered what’s been wrong with me. turns out i’m HIGHLY allergic to one of my blood pressure medications (hydralazine) which caused me to develop a medically induced form of lupus which triggered angioedema which resulted in anaphylaxis which precipitated a rush to the ER which resulted in a week in the ICU. it was all a little much… however, i am a) out of hospital and b) on the road to recovery. fortunately this is a condition that will fade away in three to four months and i’m currently on a treatment plan to support that. i sincerely look forward to feeling more myself again! frankly the last several years have been an excruciating bitch and it’s been a constant struggle to get anything done at all. my heart goes out in deepest sympathy to all those who suffer the other forms of lupus!

anyway, that’s my reason for this sale. well that and the undeniable fact we can all use a little cheers and benefit from as much deep breathing as we can get! Best Wishes! CB

well this is something i’ve been working on for the past several weeks: “assets” for an upcoming exhibition in los angeles! it will@open on july 11th and run through august 22nd. i’m quite pleased about this as you might imagine 😊 (more details will follow very shortly so please stand by!)
