Lynn Abbot paints a dreamy scenes of the ordinary triggering nostalgia and meaning for so many.

Freeland House stands tall, smack dab in the middle of everything that goes on on the North Main Street side of VMI. Constructed in Queen Anne Style in 1899 for Mrs. Freeland, matron of VMI, the house served as faculty housing for many years until it was converted to office space for many departments and projects. The fate of many historic college campus structures. "The Castle" has been maintained in historically accurate color and continues to watch over the corps today.
