PROFESSOR BROWER'S LECTURE SERIES

Professor Brower's lecture is included with admission on the day of the lecture. It is held in the Andy Griffith Museum Theatre located below the museum.

Lectures start at 2:00 p.m. with general admission seating.

⭐Andy was born on June 1, 1926, in Mount Airy, North Carolina, and grew up in a small house on Haymore Street.
⭐Andy originally planned to become a Moravian preacher before discovering his love for music and theater.
⭐Andy graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in music.
⭐Andy Griffith became famous for his comedy monologue “What It Was, Was Football.”
⭐Before becoming Sheriff Andy Taylor, Andy was on Broadway, and in movies.
⭐He won a Grammy in 1997! Best Southern Gospel, Country Gospel Or Bluegrass Gospel Album, "I Love To Tell The Story - 25 Timeless Hymns"
⭐North Carolina is home to two TV Land Andy and Opie Statues. The other statue is in Raleigh.
⭐The Andy Griffith Museum in Mount Airy houses the world’s largest collection of Andy Griffith memorabilia.
