King Charles' last visits to the Bay Area were in 1977 and 2005. In the first visit, then-Prince Charles came to the Port of Oakland when he boarded a a boat next to Potomac to tour the waterfront. We wonder if he knew then that his grandfather King George VI and Queen Elizabeth had taken a cruise on Potomac in Washington, D.C. in June, 1939 while on their first state visit to the US. Here's a photo of his grandparents' heralded arrival to the ship at that time.

Opening Day on the Bay was a blast for everyone on Potomac today! We joined other decorated boats to go by the Blessing Boat in Sausalito, then followed behind the San Francisco Fire Boats as leading the boat parade. And the sun came out too!
