Woah, it’s National Wildlife Day!

Today, we raise awareness about a variety of animal species around the globe and their conservation. But why do we do this?

Well, animals and their habitats are being threatened by human activity including climate change, deforestation and ocean pollution. By bringing awareness to these issues, humanity can work together to help protect wildlife.

At Orlando Science Center’s Life exhibit on Level 1, guests are immersed in three environments including a Rainforest, Ocean and Swamp. Guests are able to learn more about these diverse ecosystems and the species that rely on them.

The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope officially launched into the cosmos on August 30th!

Roman will look at billions of cosmic objects to explore how planets, stars and galaxies form and develop over time. By taking never-before-seen pictures of the universe, Roman will help scientists explore the areas of dark matter, exoplanets and infrared astrophysics.
Roman will work together with NASA’s Hubble and James Webb Space Telescopes, marking a new era of space exploration will ultimately help reveal the universe’s greatest mysteries.

At Orlando Science Center, we help visitors of all ages better understand why space exploration is so important through a program named “Science Matters: The Case for Space.” It’s through this initiative that OSC sparks curiosity and encourages everyone to ask questions that’ll evolve their understanding of our universe and our place in it.

Orlando Science Center programming is funded in part by Orange County Government through the Arts & Cultural Affairs Program by collections of the Tourist Development Tax (TDT).

This support allows us to bring interactive experiences to Central Florida, including events like Spark STEM Fest and Science Night Live, and rotating traveling exhibits like Phenomena: The Exhibition.
