Military aviation is inherently dangerous, the highly skilled folks in our armed forces mitigate this danger and make it look easy to all of us. However, that is simply not the case. When things do go wrong lives are lost. Though their names may not yet all be known to the public, their impact is undeniable. Every advancement in aviation, every safer system, every future mission, bears the imprint of those willing to go first. Please pray for the families of these lost airmen and for every member of our armed forces.

Warbird Wednesday ✈️

Meet the Martin-Baker MB 5 — a fighter aircraft many test pilots considered one of the finest piston-engine fighters ever built.

Developed in Britain during World War II, the MB 5 was the final evolution of a series of Martin-Baker prototype fighters. Powered by a Rolls-Royce Griffon engine, it combined impressive speed, handling, and pilot-friendly design into a single aircraft.

Despite receiving glowing reviews from those who flew it, the MB 5 never entered production. By the time it was ready, the Jet Age was rapidly approaching, and military priorities had shifted away from piston-engine fighters.

Today, the MB 5 remains one of aviation history's greatest "what if" aircraft—an exceptional fighter that never got the chance to prove itself in combat.
