200 Hyder Hill Rd, Piney Flats, but don't turn in at the Rocky
Mount sign. Keep going over the hill, and the barn is on your left.

A few scenes from tonight at Rocky Mount with our friends from the Overmountain Victory Trail Association.

Rocky Mount is connected to the Overmountain Menโ€™s encampment of September 24, 1780, before their gathering at Sycamore Shoals the following day.

Tomorrow, September 25, OVTA marchers gather at Sycamore Shoals as their annual commemoration continues toward Kings Mountain, remembering the journey that led to the battle on October 7, 1780.

Thank you to everyone who spent the evening with us, and to the OVTA for sharing the story.

For eight generations, Clara B. Thomas's family has worked Magna Vista Farm near Bristol, a Revolutionary War land-grant farm. The barns, horses, chickens, old roads, and changing seasons in her paintings are the ones outside her window every morning.

"My art developed from scenes that are part of my everyday life," Clara says.

This isn't a talk about farm life from somewhere else. It's her work, shown on the grounds where Tennessee started.
