Oh my friends another wonderful event with Jenny Bergold of Light of the World Yoga and Laura Nelson Herra of J&R Herra Heating, Cooling and Plumbing!

The Sugar Mamas of Sugar Grove is a mom's group with monthly Mom's Night Out events and other fun kid-friendly excursions. We had an evening of watercolor, sound healing, and friendship inside the fabulously decked out J&R Herra Home Studio: A Craftsman Collective.

What fascinates me of course is the study of neuroaesthetics and how art making affects the body and brain! Art making lowers stress hormones, spikes your dopamine and other calming and happy-making chemicals which sounds like exactly what mamas of little ones need! Even if you are a beginner all the benefits are there.

We painted a mini project of a pre-drawn peony followed by a sound healing. As my youngest graduated highschool this year-it was fun for me to remember the early days of motherhood and feel it all come full circle.

This was absolutely great! My first walk-in watercolor at Maker's Collective was so much fun. Artists had many of my designs to choose from and could paint on their own or ask for tips. I loved chatting with everyone, friends new and old, and it's always inspiring inside this shop! Enjoy a few of the pics I took below! 35:35 Makers Collective 💙

Watercolor Walk-in with NO ticket required!

On Saturday, May 23rd, join me for a Walk-In Watercolor Day! Stop by 35:35 Makers Collective anytime between 11 AM and 3 PM, pick a pre-sketched design, and paint. No planning, no pressure. Just sit down and start.

All supplies are ready for you, and I will be there if you want tips along the way! Beginners ENCOURAGED!

No reservations or tickets required.

$15 per painting.

Come solo or bring a friend and make an afternoon out of it. There is so much to see and do at Maker's!

Happy Tuesday artists! I think I am long overdue for a little re-introduction to the woman behind the page.

My name is Jenny and I am a life-long artist. I have taught art to all ages for over 25 years and have exhibited professionally since 2016.

My passion is helping others uncover their artistic voice. Our creativity is the magic that runs through this world and giving yourself time to nurture that magic is one of the best gifts of love you can give yourself and others. Everyone is welcome to create with me and the spaces I am in, no exceptions, as long as you are kind. 💙

My fireman guy and I have three daughters who are pretty much grown-so I figured with all my 'free time' I should get two toy poodles. I am now controlled 24/7 by two pieces of noisy fluff, but they earn their keep by protecting my studio from any intruders. 🐩🐩

When I get artist's block I work on my dollhouses. I currently have a Witch's Cottage (see the photos of the spelling kitchen below) and a shabby-chic townhouse I putter with. Creativity has many many forms and I know I can help you find your outlet!

The Moose!

The Moose Lodge is a service organization dedicated to supporting children in need, providing for senior members, and supporting local communities while providing a social hub for its members. This evening I enjoyed a small group painting session at our local Sycamore Moose. Of course our landscape had to include...a moose! And I believe I met what might have been the world's tiniest Moose member 💙
