The 2nd Annual USHA Midwest Junior Cup is returning to the BMAC Handball Courts in Bridgeton, Missouri, on Saturday, September 19!

Junior handball players from across the Midwest will come together for a fun, competitive day of handball, with players representing their cities and battling for the Midwest Junior Cup.

The World Wallball Championships are getting closer, and the energy around this event keeps building.

In September, players from across the world will head to New York City for a tournament that feels bigger than a normal competition. Historic courts, international matchups, packed divisions, and the chance to compete on one of the sport’s biggest stages all in one week.

Some players have been training for this event all year. For others, it’ll be their first chance to test themselves against international competition.

One Wall. Every Age. Every Level.

One of our favorite parts of being at the USGAA Finals was seeing the One Wall handball court bring people of all ages and experience levels play together.

From kids and adults trying it for the first time, to players who hadn’t played in a while getting back on the court. And with former World and National Champions Martin Mulkerrins and Killian Carroll on hand, everyone had the chance to share the court with some of the best in the game - handballers will admit, that’s pretty cool!

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by, gave handball a try, and helped bring the USGAA and USHA partnership to life. It was great to see so many people come together through the game!

Handball on the Road - Boston!

This weekend, Martin and Eilish met up with Aggie alum Brendan McCarthy for some fun One-Wall at the USGAA Finals USGAA Finals in Boston.

The One-Wall Handball demonstration was a collaboration between the USHA and USGAA which Martin and Eilish were involved in organizing. It was great to catch up with Brendan, who was representing the Denver Gaels GAA Club in both Gaelic Football and Hurling! Brendan continues to play Four-Wall with the Handball community in Denver and we hope to see him again at the Denver World Players of Handball Foundation ProStop in December! 👋🔵

And there was even more to celebrate as Brendan’s hurling team took home a national title! 🏆🇺🇸

A new friendship was also formed through the Aggie network when Martin and Eilish met a Seattle Gaels GAA Player, Sarah '06, when she recognized their Aggie jerseys. Then we discovered her husband used to play One-Wall in New York when he was younger and didn't know it was also a traditional Gaelic Game!

Congratulations to Michael Morgan on being named the new Assistant Professor of Handball and Head Coach of the University of Texas Handball Team!

AUSTIN, TX – August 16, 2026 The UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN SELECTED MICHAEL MORGAN AS NEW ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF HANDBALL.

The Department of Kinesiology and Health Education at The University of Texas (UT) at Austin selected Michael Morgan to teach the handball classes and to serve as the faculty advisor and head coach for the Longhorn Handball sports club. His position is endowed through the generosity of the Randolph Foundation for Higher Education. “The future is bright for UT handball, and I am excited to be a pivotal part of the program's growth,” said incoming coach, Michael Morgan.

Mr. Morgan had successful stints coaching handball sports clubs at the University of West Florida (UWF) at Pensacola, FL and the University of Arizona (UA) at Tucson, AZ. His UWF teams earned four USHA National Collegiate Tournament Division A Team Champion Runner-up finishes in 2013, 2016, 2017, and 2018. His teams produced three individual National Champions in skill-level divisions and one All-American. In 2016, he earned the “Coach of the Year” award by the United States Handball Association, US handball’s national governing body, and the World Players of Handball Foundation (WPH), the sport’s professional player’s organization.

Mr. Morgan also has solid individual handball playing credentials and success on the regional, national, and world tournament stage including winning a 4-wall world skill-level division title.

Mr. Morgan joins an experienced coaching staff that includes player development by WPH pro and Junior WPH Coach, Daniel Cordova, WPH pros Dylan and Taylor Schmitt and recent UT Austin graduate, Noel Aguilar.

Mr. Morgan follows a long line of storied UT Austin head coaches including Dick Roberson (Southwest Region Hall of Fame), Pete Tyson (USHA and Southwest Hall of Fame), Wayne Lee, Nate Frank and Daniel Cordova. These coaches guided their teams to multiple men’s and women’s national titles, open-level singles and doubles individual national titles and several All-Americans, including John Bike, Jr., the USHA Hall of Fame player.

It was another fantastic day at the handball demonstration here at the USGAA National Finals in Boston! USGAA FINALS | BOSTON 2026

Countless children and participants had the opportunity to try play! There was also great interaction with administrators from around the country which provides a hugely positive opportunity to the grow our sport.

Handball is part of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) family in Ireland alongside Gaelic Football, Ladies Gaelic Football, Hurling, Camogie and Rounders. There are over 160 GAA Clubs in the US alone. Whether it is a social outlet and/or a cross training for the other Gaelic Games, Handball is an ideal sport for GAA clubs to play during the off season (autumn/winter).

A huge thank you to all the clubs and players who stopped by to give handball a try today at the USGAA Finals!

Handball is one of the traditional Gaelic games, and it was fantastic to see the USGAA and USHA communities come together to share the sport, meet new people, and make connections.
