SEE YOU Wednesday !

OPEN STUDIO the 2nd of September of Carlín Díaz (Carlín Díaz), our current artist in residence in Brussels.

Díaz’s work becomes alive through the interaction and coexistence of simple shapes and figures, creating imaginary ecosystems where no element bares more importance than another.
His paintings vibrate with energy, vivid colours and essential forms exist between abstraction and figuration, and invisible experiences are made visible.
To feel this energy, come discover his studio in person at Fondation CAB!

The temporary exhibition at Fondarion CAB Saint-Paul de Vence, dedicated to Jean Prouvé, highlights some of his most emblematic furniture: a great example of his structural lyricism and functional design.

📌 The «Standard» chair reflects Prouvé’s constructive efficience and is often used in universities and collective spaces.

📌 The «Antony» chair was developed for the Antony University Residence, with its lightweight structure and relatively inexpensive cost.

📌 The «Marcoule» bench adapts a pre-existing concept of one of Prouvé’s tables (the «Cafétéria no. 512» table) to a new purpose, using the same base for a dining hall bench.

📌 The «Cité» bed in bent sheet metal, with its integrated bedside shelves, offers an elegant solution for students residences in Nancy.

📌 The «Compas» table is one of the last structural systems that Prouvé developed for furniture, and is an example industrial aesthetic.

In 1960, Nassos Daphnis explored a new approach to painting through geometric abstraction. In 19-60, 25-60 and 21-60, he used sharply defined forms and vibrant colors to create balanced, dynamic compositions.

Rather than depicting a landscape or an object, these works invite viewers to experience the dialogue between color, line, and space. They mark an important moment in the development of the Hard-Edge style, characterized by its precision and clarity.

🎨 The three paintings that demonstrate how color and geometry can become a visual language in their own right.
