What can you hear when you enter the exhibition “Rehearsal Room”?
Sounds of water, frogs, wind, rain, and birds mixed with ambient music. Together, they form a sound collage that creates an immersive atmosphere in the space.
The “Speaker Tree (Cross-dimensional Messengers)” — a sculpture of intertwined steel holding three speakers like branches — fills the room with layered sonic textures. It plays the composition “Circulaciones (Dreamscapes)” by Nicole L’Huillier and Nyksan , which combines drone, ambient sound, and field recordings from the Amazon region, drawing on research into dream incubation and brainwave entrainment.
Visitors are invited to lie beneath the sculpture on the “Convoluted Mattress (Resting and Receiving)”, a large communal bed made from acoustic foam. Resting their heads on one of the “Sonic Pillows (Personal Attunement Device)”, they can add purring, breathing, heartbeats, and subtle vibrations to the listening experience.
This sonic environment encourages sleep, rest, lingering, collective dreaming, and daydreaming.
Come experience it for yourself — the exhibition runs until July 5, 2026.
