A huge thank you to all of our families who participated in our wonderful t-shirt printing workshop yesterday! 👕

After a master class in drawing techniques from Julia, the families got creative with handmade collagraphs and ink. What do you think of the results?

Don't forget, the Studio Prints exhibition is on right through until October 31, giving you plenty of time to discover some print based inspiration of your own!

Today is 🍇

From our collections: two paintings by George Clare.

Clare was born and lived in Birmingham for most of his life. He married Elizabeth Bowen, a dressmaker, in 1852, and they had eight children. Clare taught at least two of his children to paint. Oliver and Vincent (born George) both went on to enjoy success as fruit and flower painters. By the 1880s, Clare, his wife and their three youngest children were living in Moretonhampstead, Devon. Clare passed away in 1890 in Barnet, London.

In his 1891 notebook Cooper notes in reference to 'La Visite au Chateau' 'Msr. Isabey altered the architecture of the tonelles [garden buildings] on the right at my request and the paws of the dog.' He later bought the painting from the French art dealer Frere in Paris.
