🎭 ‘She Stoops to Conquer’ is heading to the Coffin Works this July and you will not want to miss it!

The cast dropped in on Saturday to try out a few scenes in the courtyard and get a feel for how the performance will land in our historic space.

Our visitors even got a surprise sneak peek as they passed through. What a treat!

At the Coffin Works stamping out an RIP on our Victorian Drop Stamp is how we train our future generation of Stamp Room volunteers.

This July, we're transforming our historic courtyard into a stage for an evening of laughter!

Join us on Thursday 2nd July for The Crescent Theatre Company's Summer Tour production of She Stoops to Conquer – Oliver Goldsmith's much-loved comedy of manners, packed with mischievous pranks, confusion and star-crossed lovers.

Settle into our atmospheric courtyard, enjoy a drink, and experience one of Birmingham's oldest theatre companies performing under the summer sky.

A dead good day out in Warwick! ⚰️💙

For Volunteers' Week 2026, we headed to historic Warwick with our wonderful volunteers as a small thank you for the huge difference they make to the Coffin Works.

We spent the day exploring the town's incredible history (with a few cakes along the way, of course!). From the fascinating – an extraordinary piece of Early Modern history that's still home to veterans today – to discovering the hidden gem that is St Mary's Church, there was plenty to enjoy.

A special thank you to our own talented Vicky for leading a brilliant walking tour and bringing Warwick's stories to life, and to everyone who helped make us feel so welcome.

Most of all, thank you to our fantastic volunteers. We couldn't do it without you. 💙

🥳 Last Thursday we celebrated Councillor Phil Davis’ retirement, a fitting send off for someone who’s given so much to our city.

🏆 For over 15 years, Phil has been a true heritage champion, always fighting for the places and stories that make Birmingham what it is. From supporting Birmingham Heritage Week to chairing the Jewellery Quarter Development Trust andHeritage Strategy Group, his impact is everywhere.

Phil has always championed heritage and conservation and he’s given our sector a voice. But more than that, his friendly and approachable nature has helped bridge the world of local politics for small organisations like ourselves, ensuring our voices were always heard.
