Nantgarw China Works is the only surviving 19th century porcelain works in the United Kingdom. In the early years of the 19th century the most beautiful porcelain every created was made here by William Billingsley. Now part museum and part working pottery, Nantgarw is once again manufacturing the original softpaste porcelain. Over five hundred workshops take place at Nantgarw China Works each year including ceramics, pottery, fused glass and willow weaving. Group visits are our speciality.

The museum has limited accessibility for wheelchairs. Although the majority of the site is accessible, the upper gallery can only be accessed via stairs.

Magical Clay Creatures

Get creative this Autumn half term and join ceramicist Erin Samuels at Nantgarw China Works and create your own magical creatures with real clay.

Free parent/guardian & child pottery activity, ages 11+

Pinch Pot Creature (morning session)
