Jaci Hogan is a pastel artist whose journey over the past three years has been devoted to exploring the dynamic beauty of seas and oceans. This passion is rooted in her childhood growing up in Australia, where early life spent swimming and watching the waves left a lasting imprint on her imagination. The rhythm and sounds of the ocean have become a part of her inner landscape, shaping her creative vision.โฃ
In this body of work, she seeks to capture the visual patterns of both waves and sea foam, by studying the tides and the interplay of water as it retreats and crashes onto the shore.ย  Her aim is to evoke a sense of motion, whether it be the crashing of waves or the pull of the tide. Her hope is that each piece invites viewers to reconnect with their own experiences of the coast, to be immersed in the presence of the sea.โฃ

Luba is a contemporary landscape artist based in Gloucestershire, UK. Her work explores the essence of memory, capturing light, atmosphere, and emotion rather than specific places. Inspired by countryside walks and the Cornish coast, she creates textured paintings using acrylic, oil, and charcoal. Built through layered, intuitive mark-making, her pieces feel both spontaneous and intentional, inviting personal interpretation.โฃ

Water fascinates me; its constant movement, shifting between revealing and concealing, beauty and danger. In my paintings, I explore its light, depth, and unpredictability through layered colour and texture. Drawn to it yet wary of its depths, I capture water as both a physical force and an emotional space, inviting a shared sense of wonder and unease.โฃ

My work evolves through experimentation, using mainly salvaged materials and found objects, often scrap metal. The materials themselves inspire each piece, which I handcraft to ensure every sculpture is unique. Though sometimes playful in appearance, the work often carries a deeper, more serious message.

I treated myself for Christmas 2024 to this beautiful new custom galvanised planter for in-font of our lovely shop, and planted it up at the beginning of last year. Itโ€™s taken 12 months but I have to say now it is looking SO stunning!
Itโ€™s not an easy place to plant with being in the rain-shadow of the building, but this year the plants seem look so happy. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿงก๐ŸŒฟ

I treated myself for Christmas 2024 to this beautiful new custom galvanised planter for in-font of our shop, and planted it up at the beginning of last year. Itโ€™s taken 12 months but I have to say now it is looking SO stunning! Recently I have moved from old master copies such as Dutch still lifes to my own compositions which combine renaissance, pre-raphaelite and art deco influences. Although I mainly enjoy figurative subjects I also enjoy more contemporary genres such as steampunk, although still working in the academic manner.ย โฃ
I work exclusively in oil, using a traditional layering technique to build up detailed paintings on panel or linen. I am always looking for a harmonious whole using toned and muted colours to somehow relive the beauty of past artistic genres. Although I donโ€™t use any artificial ageing techniques per se, my ultimate objective would be for my work to look timeless, as though it has already been hanging for tens or hundreds of years.โ€™โฃ
