We have a new show on this week at Leith Makers, opening night on Wednesday evening.

By the Working Class Collective, the show brings together work by artists that have been shaped by their circumstances, giving a new perspective on how we define a landscape.

Landscapes shape us in dynamic and complex ways - they extend from our physical environments to the political terrains and emotional worlds we navigate. Through a variety of mediums and artist practices, this exhibition focuses on the external and internal ridges and gullies which erode, collide and elevate our perspectives. The working-class experience sprouts from various backgrounds and from artist to artist. The result is a nuanced and complex exploration of our histories and surroundings. Landscapes That Shape Us seeks to share the range of landscapes we inhabit and uncover.

Join us for collage workshops with Liam 🫧🫧🫧

Collage making for beginners led by artist Liam McCabe. (Re)Learn the value of the handmade in the age of AI

I will be teaching you the essentials of play in collage making, opposed to the serious nature of art making. Bring open eyes and motivation to think anew, and you will leave with something you may not have expected :)

Ticket price includes all materials required, although if you have your own images to bring please feel free.

Refreshments provided and BYOB if you wish. See you there

Liam, speaking in the third person, has 3 art degrees and researched hoarders, recyclers and scavengers. Their practice focuses on zero waste, community and skills sharing in an individualistic world.

Liam McCabe will be holding a workshop called Making by Hand in The Age of AI, this is a free entry workshop taster session followed by a series of ticketed weekly sessions! ✨

We would like to announce Kelly Stewart is hosting an Artist’s Talk with a live demonstration on Friday 25th September 2026 6pm-7.30pm at Leith Makers.

The talk will include a live demonstration, talking through her process of applying watercolours, pastels, pencils and collage into her work. She’ll also talk about the work that is currently showing in the exhibition titled ‘City and Country’ at Leith Makers . There will be Q&A at the end.
