Last few days to see Vessels of Memory, by Gledys Ibarra

Vessels of Memory is a series of recent paintings exploring memory and the recurring motif of the vessel. The works emerged gradually in Gledys's studio, evolving from quiet, introspective compositions to a broader exploration of form, scale, and colour. Across the series, some paintings are restrained and contemplative, while others are more expressive, reflecting the range of her engagement with memory and material.

Show ends 27th May, don't miss it!

14th - 27th May

Venezuelan artist Gledys Ibarra presents her first solo exhibition in the United Kingdom with Vessels of Memory, a series of recent paintings exploring memory and the recurring motif of the vessel. The works emerged gradually in her studio, evolving from quiet, introspective compositions to a broader exploration of form, scale, and colour. Across the series, some paintings are restrained and contemplative, while others are more expressive, reflecting the range of her engagement with memory and material.

The exhibition is part of Ibarra’s sustained studio practice, developed alongside her career as an actress. Alongside her exhibitions in Venezuela, including Casa 22 Gallery, El Hatillo, Caracas, she has participated in cultural initiatives such as the Latin American Awards by LA United, London, in collaboration with Latin American House, where her works were presented and auctioned.
