📖 Launch of a new book celebrating 130 years of history

We’re delighted to share the launch of ‘Banfield: Not a Single Boring Day in 130 Years’ - a fascinating new publication that explores an Argentine football institution established in 1896 by British, Irish and Australian railway pioneers.

The book highlights the rich and unexpected historical links between Ilfracombe and South America, tracing the club’s identity back to its namesake Edward Banfield (1837–1872), the Ilfracombe-born engineer who relocated to South America in the late 1850s, and spearheaded Argentina's early railway infrastructure.
