A fantastic morning in the studio 🎙️ Yesterday we visited the amazing Adam at Studio at The Warren to record some new Audio Descriptions as part of our Describing Heritage project with VocalEyes.

Adam helped us record and edit three tracks co-created with the lovely service users at Sight Support Hull, alongside an Audio Description of the Spurn Lightship, written by one of our incredible volunteers. 💙

A huge thank you to Adam, our wonderful collaborators and everyone involved in bringing heritage to life through Audio Description! ✨

If you haven't visited yet, now's the perfect time to discover the stories, people and adventures that helped shape our city. ⚓

The museum is free to visit and is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4.30pm, and Sunday from 11am to 4pm.

Visitors are encouraged to book a timeslot online at https://www.hullmuseums.co.uk/hull-maritime-museum, although walk-up entry is available subject to capacity.

👀 Here’s the answer… it’s Harry Cartlidge!

For generations, Cartlidge’s photographs have helped preserve the story of Hull - its streets, buildings, docks and the everyday life of the city and its people.

Born in 1893, he became an important Hull photographer, documenting a city undergoing enormous change during the 20th century. His photographs capture not just landmarks, but the character of Hull itself: working life, familiar streets and buildings, and places that have since disappeared or been transformed.
