WOW! Can you believe it? Over the past 5 years, we’ve welcomed over 45,000 visitors through our doors, including amazing school groups, families and curious minds of all ages!

We’re SO proud to have been part of Leeds for five fantastic years, making maths exciting, interactive and FUN!

But here’s the best part… MathsCity isn’t just for Leeds! 🌍❤️ We’ve welcomed visitors from all corners of Great Britain, and we’d love to see even more of you joining the fun!

What does mathematics have to do with Black hairstyling traditions, music and sounds, African board games and physical activity and sports?

As part of the Very Local Maths project (https://verylocalmaths.org.uk/), a collaboration with the The University of Manchester and Sense SEND services, young people in Manchester have developed activities to explore mathematics through their interests, cultural practices and everyday experiences.

On 26 and 27 October, come and meet them at MathsCity in Leeds! They’ll be there from 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm on both days, inviting visitors to take part in their activities and experience mathematics through their perspectives.

Fresh from an exciting weekend at the EMF Festival, filled with maths, building amazing geometric shapes, and of course a robot dog showing off its geometric building skills, our brand-new Whisper Dishes and Laser Light exhibits have officially moved into their forever home at MathsCity!

Can you whisper across the room without raising your voice? 🤫

City of Maths is offering this wonderful jewel hunt trail around Leeds city! 💎🧩

You can unlock the physical safe at MathsCity using the code from the trail—no ticket needed! But if you’re enjoying the experience, why not stay a while and spend a couple of hours exploring everything MathsCity has to offer?

It was great to have fantastic conversations about their research and its potential impact on everyday life.

Along with having fun with drawing circles, we also did a pi approximation using circles and threads.

Can safely say Pi is between 3 and 3.5 😃
