Tickets will be coming soon for a magical Christmas screening of Stick Man in The Brodrick Hall.

Join Stick Man on his epic adventure home for Christmas as the much-loved animated film is brought to the big screen, accompanied by the magnificent Leeds Conservatoire Orchestra performing live. Enjoy festive favourites before and after the film, making this a Christmas treat for the whole family.

Based on the beloved children's book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, this heart-warming festive experience is not to be missed.

💡 Half term is Glow in the Dark Week here at Leeds City Museum, as we celebrate with a whole week of gorgeous glowing activities for families.

Drop in for our Glow in the Dark Trail and spot objects and animals that have special ways of shining and glowing. Or have a go at designing your own pumpkin in our Pumpkin Competetion! 🎃

Coming up: Free drop-in activity on Wednesday 21 October 10am - 12pm to celebrate the Dead Plants Society's involvement in the new It Takes A Community exhibition. 🌱

Meet the team and discover their work, whilst getting creative with zines, drawings and all things plants. Add annotations, poems, reflections or drawings inspired by plants throughout the process 🍃

Twit-twoo! We're so excited to be hosting Bird Song (Owls) at the museum as part of 2026. Come face to face with three magnificent giant owls, brought to life as glowing holograms inside sculptural birdhouses.

Inspired by the owl on Leeds' historic city crest, get up close and listen as an immersive soundscape transforms the space into the owls' imagined woodland home.

Drop in to the Brodrick Hall 6 - 9.30pm, 28 & 29 October. In partnership with West Yorkshire Vision Zero.

It Takes a Community Exhibtion opens tomorrow!

We're celebrating 20 years of community partnership across Leeds Museums and Galleries with a vibrant new exhibition bringing together the many groups, collaborators and creatives who’ve shaped our museums over the past two decades.

Co‑curated with community partners from across the city, it’s a joyful showcase of creativity, identity and shared storytelling.

Explore powerful themes of identity, belonging, wellbeing and representation through artwork, personal objects, quotes and films created by students and community contributors. Each piece offers a window into what community means today and how creativity helps us feel seen, supported and included.

Together, these voices and objects celebrate what’s possible when museums and communities work side by side. ♥️

A moment with super-talented Jemima Spence as she added the final touches to her epic mural at Leeds City Museum - created for our It Takes a Community exhibition opening 2 October.

Inspired by objects donated by communities across Leeds, Jemima's artwork weaves together stories of identity, activism, music, migration and everyday life. Each element in the mural responds to a different object - from vinyl and poetry anthologies to badges, masks and treasured personal items - celebrating the people behind them and the connections they carry.

A vibrant tribute to Leeds' communities.
