KNIGHTON PARK SHOW — WE’RE BACK! 🎨

This Sunday we’re back at Knighton Park Show for our fourth year!

It’s become a bit of an Artsters tradition and always one of our favourite days. We love the atmosphere, seeing so many familiar faces from our park sessions and the studio, and meeting lots of new local families too.

As always, we’ll have free art activities for the kids, plus a small paid craft this year and a few of our favourite arty bits to buy.

And of course, Janine & Emma will both be there - so come and say hello, have a chat and ask us anything Artsters. If you’ve been thinking about joining us for September, it’s pretty good timing too… our new term starts the very next day! 💛

Paint doesn’t always stay on the paper…we learnt this one pretty early on 🎨

When we first started Artsters, our own little ones were our chief activity testers, and they reminded us very quickly that the process of creating is every bit as important as what comes home at the end.

Feeling the paint. Mixing it. Making marks with fingers, hands…and occasionally feet. Seriously cute painty footprints! 😍

We never wanted Artsters to be about making a craft for the grown-ups. We wanted children to have the freedom to really explore art for themselves.

So we set it all up, give them brilliant things to create with, and have the warm water waiting afterwards. 💛

They get the freedom. You get to enjoy it with them.

One week to go Artsters! 🤩

Right now it’s just an empty studio… but next week the paint will be out, the Mini masterpieces will be ready and we’ll be welcoming our Artsters back through the door.

We’ve got so many exciting things planned for this term and we genuinely can’t wait to get started.

If you’ve been with us before, we can’t wait to see you back. And if September will be your very first Artsters term, we can’t wait to welcome you too. 🎨

A different Mini masterpiece every week 🎨

Posting the pictures of our Kusama inspired Mini masterpieces really got me thinking about how many amazing pieces the children create at the studio. And how much we love watching these go home with you week after week 😍

Every week we start together with a new Mini masterpiece, inspired by a great artist. We provide the inspiration, materials and a little guidance - then they make it completely their own.

No finished example to copy, no right or wrong way, and no two ever quite the same.

They end up on fridges, in frames and tucked away in keepsake boxes - and by the end of a term you’ve got six little pieces of their artwork to look back on. You might even spot how their marks, ideas and confidence have changed along the way. 💛

Six weeks. Six Mini masterpieces. Amazing.

Our new Pre-school art play term starts 7th September for ages 9 months–4 years.

There’s a lot that happens in this room before we let you all loose in it 😂

We’ve taken some time this week to get the studio properly sorted before our September term starts - making a few improvements, organising ALL the kit (there is a lot 😳), restocking and getting our first few weeks planned and ready to go.

One of the things you love about our term is that it’s different every single week! There’ll always be familiar favourites around the studio, but we’re constantly coming up with new ideas, materials and ways for our Artsters to explore and create.

It takes a lot behind the scenes, but we love seeing this room come to life once you’re all in it 💛
