You are invited to join textile artist and long-time campaigner for peace, Jan Wallis at the Dory Gallery for a hands-on workshop. Jan's Peace Hat Workshop is a space for our community to gather, share thinking, and create something meaningful with our hands.

By participating, you will get a few hours of dedicated, mindful headspace, a chance to connect with new people in Llangollen, and your own handmade piece of textile art to keep.

All materials are provided and everyone is welcome, from absolute beginners to experienced makers.

Date: 13th June 2026
Time: 1pm - 3pm
Location: The Dory Gallery

Please send us a message or comment below to let us know you are coming so we can ensure we have enough materials for everyone.

As the sun sets this Bank Holiday weekend, here in the Dee Valley we are still under the magic of Calan Mai, the traditional start of the Welsh summer. To celebrate this season of renewal, we are delighted to announce our upcoming event: Between Moss and Myth.

This summer, the Dory Gallery explores the deep connection between the Dee Valley landscape and its ancient legends. We are delving into the folklore rooted in our soil, from the magical properties of native flora to the ancient spirits of the river.

Join us for:
New artwork inspired by Welsh lore, including Helen Rossetti Ceramics interpretations of the enchanting mystical tales.
Creative workshops linking myth with local plants, herbs and trees.
Simon O'Rourke - Tree Carving finding joy in the very wood he carves.
And discover more hidden stories shaped by our valley.

Full details on workshop dates and guest artists will be shared soon.

Life Drawing at The Dory Gallery

We are looking forward to a busy spring and summer in the studio. While we are skipping the bank holiday weekends in May to give everyone a chance to enjoy the breaks, we have plenty of other opportunities to pick up a charcoal stick or a box of pastels and join us. This is an untutored, very supportive group with beginners and practising artists sitting side by side in a welcoming circle.

Upcoming Dates:
April: 27 April
May: 11 May, 18 May
June: 1 June, 8 June, 15 June, 22 June, 29 June
