The Colours of Home – An Exhibition by Rita Readman

Join us for The Colours of Home, a beautiful exhibition celebrating the watercolour paintings of local artist Rita Readman.

Featuring scenes from Redcar, Whitby, Saltburn, South Bank, and Middlesbrough, Rita's work captures the character, atmosphere, and cherished landscapes of the North East through her distinctive works.

Exhibition Dates: Saturday 20th June – Saturday 15th August

Exhibition Opening: Saturday 20th June from 12pm – 2pm

Come along to meet Rita, view the exhibition, and discover the stories behind the paintings that celebrate the places we know and love.

Saabat Gallery Printing Session – Saturday 30th May 2026

Our printing sessions continue to be incredibly well attended.

It’s fantastic to see such strong and growing interest, with so many people coming together to share ideas, develop skills, and enjoy the creative studio environment. We always encourage more people to come along and have a go.

We’re excited to see this momentum continue and look forward to welcoming even more participants as the sessions keep growing.

Growing Together: Saabat Community Garden

The mural is finished, and what began as sketches has grown into a vibrant piece created by children from the community.

Inspired by the spirit of Saabat Community Garden, the mural celebrates growth, connection, and the power of nature. Every section reflects the children’s ideas, creativity, and shared experiences, turning the wall into a collective story rooted in community.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, supported the project, and helped bring this vision to life.
