Due to the Red extreme heat warning issued for parts of England and Wales for today and tomorrow Gallery 6 will be closed today Wednesday 24 June with our opening and closing hours affected for the rest of the week.
If you are thinking of visiting the gallery, please telephone me on 07375 101416 to make sure that I will be open.
If you have seen something in the window or in the gallery that you wish to purchase, I am very happy to reserve it for you. Please email me on [email protected] to make sure that the item is still available. I will be adding some individual photographs of recent work we have received in the gallery over the last few weeks.

The gallery opening and closing hours may be affected by the Red extreme heat warning issued for parts of England and Wales this week.
If you are thinking of visiting the gallery, please telephone me on 07375 101416 to make sure that I will be open. I hope to open the gallery as normal, but will possibly close early. You will probably find me in the secret garden behind Gallery 6. You are more than welcome to join me.

A new arrival of limited edition prints taken during a day trip in the city of London from award winning photographer David Townshend.
‘Sky Blue’ 1/5 £185 (printed area 24cm x 34cm) is one of several mounted limited edition photographic prints created on a single day’s visit which, David reports was, “blessed with a clear blue sky that created bold contrasts and also many fascinating reflections in the expanses of glass. I wanted to create some alternative but equally striking abstract city scapes”.

Especially for the football widows out there …STRIKE while you can. Ease your partners conscience about you feeling ignored or neglected and just suggest that they buy the painting, sculpture, ceramic, photograph or glass piece you have longed for at Gallery 6, and you will be happy to let them watch football every night over the coming weeks.

The forecast for the weekend is looking good so if you are planning to visit Newark on Trent please join me ‘In Arcadia Ego’ at Gallery 6 this Saturday for a glass of sparkling as you view this glorious exhibition by Jane Hindmarch along with work from our other incredible artists, ceramicists, sculptors, glass artists and photographers in our four gallery spaces on both ground and first floors.
‘In Arcadia Ego’ is Jane’s exhibition of limited edition prints from her sellout show of original paintings which took place earlier in the year.
In Arcadia Ego’ – ‘I am in Paradise’ is inspired by visits to Arcadia Garden in Sheffield. The garden was created by Sheffield based landscape architects Doug Baker and Charlotte Liu. It is a unique naturalistic, perennial garden, an evolving experiment in plant communities and natural balance. Its varied habitats include woodland, meadow, dry areas and tall herbaceous environments, which form the inspiration for Janes creativity.
The gallery is open from 10.30-4.00pm and we are located on Stodman Street NG24 1AN, opposite The Prince Rupert which is a must see on your visit.
