Museion Art Club presents After Dark, an OCCUPY Museion event transforming the museum into a space for color, sound, movement, and collective energy, on the occasion of the opening of RAMM:ELL:ZEE TIME:LINE and the Long Night of Museums.

Inspired by RAMMELLZEE’s universe, the evening brings all generations together through art, performance, and music — from a collective painting workshop in the afternoon to a live performance and DJ set into the night.

The program – 16.10.2026:

16:00–18:00 — Collective Painting Workshop with . Wear clothes you don’t mind getting paint on!

20:30–21:30 — Live Performance by

22:00–00:30 — DJ Set by .ems

A visionary world is about to unfold at Museion.

Spanning two floors and bringing together more than 150 works, many presented in Italy for the first time, TIME:LINE invites visitors into the extraordinary universe of RAMMELLZEE, one of the most influential and uncompromising artists to emerge from New York’s 1980s cultural scene.

Moving between graffiti, hip-hop, performance, sculpture, language theory, science fiction, medieval manuscripts, and Italian Futurism, the exhibition reveals a radical body of work in which language becomes a battlefield and letters become living forms.

Join us for the opening and be among the first to step inside RAMMELLZEE’s visionary universe.

“Ingres's Italian Window” continues Evelyn Taocheng Wang’s ongoing series of window paintings. 🪟

Described by the artist as an “eye for the view,” the window functions as a threshold between inner and outer worlds. Referencing a work of the French Neoclassical painter Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, whose work is strongly influenced by his studies in Italy, Wang contemplates how landscapes, identities, and cultural narratives are shaped by the acts of looking.

In resonance with many other works in “Sweet Landscape”, the painting reflects on how images, like windows, frame our understanding of place. Transparent yet never neutral, the window becomes a space where viewing, mirroring, remembering, and imagining converge.

Celebrate the 22nd Contemporary Art Day at Museion! ✨

On October 10, enjoy free admission and a day of exhibitions, conversations, and participatory experiences exploring contemporary art from different perspectives.

From 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Art Speakings in Italian, German, and English offer new perspectives on the exhibitions on view through conversations with Museion’s mediation team.

There are also only a few spots left for POIESIS PASSAGE, a day-long performance lab curated by in collaboration with . Through movement, listening, and collective creation, participants will explore the relationship between body, space, and artwork.

The workshop culminates in a public presentation at 5:30 PM, open to all.

“We are constantly being labelled and labelling objects—even our own bodies—to fill the mouth of the monster called identity crisis.”

In “Sweet Landscape”, Evelyn Taocheng Wang reflects on how identity is constructed through images, narratives, and systems of representation. Bringing together painting, writing, garments, and sculpture within an architectural installation, the exhibition unfolds as a poetic landscape where cultural histories, lived experience, and imagination intersect.

Inspired by Bolzano's sceneries and blend of cultures, “Sweet Landscape” invites visitors to move beyond fixed notions of belonging and authenticity, opening up a space of transformation, ambiguity, and becoming.

Museion presents RAMM:ELL:ZEE TIME:LINE, the concluding chapter of the first comprehensive European retrospective dedicated to RAMMELLZEE.

Conceived as a timeline, the exhibition traces the cultural and artistic contexts behind his multidisciplinary practice — from 1980s New York and hip-hop to medieval illumination, Italian Futurism and contemporary visual culture.

At its centre is a lesser-known chapter: RAMMELLZEE’s relationship with Italy, explored through rarely seen archival material, works and historical connections.

More than 150 works bring these different times, places and forms into dialogue.
