This commissioned piece with flowers was something special to make. And size does matter - 200 x 250 cm - is so impressive and it works to make a flowerpainting this big (i even want to make a bigger one now!).
This piece was made for the entrance hall of a Dutch company. I integrated over 50 photos from the archive of the company into the painting.
I also used magazines from the 1950’s, all kinds of fabric, paper from India, Japanese silkscreenprints, Chinese ceremonypaper, Verkade collectioncards from the 1930’s, cigarbands, 1970’s wallpaper, paint and many other sorts of paper.

‘Bowie’

Cardboard, crayon, acrylicpaint, ink, fabric and plant paper, framed with museumglass.
I ordered a lot of new canvasses and they were wrapped in huge pieces of cardboard. There was so much cardboard in my studio and i didnt want to just throw it away…so i started to make art with it. So happy with these new series of work. I also used very beautiful and special paper that i found in a shop where they sell the most amazing paper made all over the world. Made by hand with plants,it looked like rope, and you can see the leaves and grass. I used paper from Nepal, Japan, South America and Africa. The artworks are very 3dimensional and they are perfect the way they are framed; floating in a white frame with museumglass.
