Papa Don’t Preach’s flagship boutique in Mumbai’s Kala Ghoda district, India, designed by DesignHex, reimagines retail as an immersive storytelling environment where fashion, fantasy, and architecture merge into one experiential destination. Created for the couture label Papa Don’t Preach, the store reflects the brand’s rebellious, playful identity through a whimsical fairytale narrative—transforming a traditional shopping trip into a journey through imagination and craft. The concept draws from storybook worlds and maximalist design language, blending sculptural forms, vibrant color palettes, and theatrical detailing to mirror the label’s bold couture aesthetic.
The boutique’s design focuses on emotional engagement as much as merchandising. A lavender-toned façade embellished with ornamental motifs invites visitors into a dreamlike setting, while the interior unfolds like chapters.
The flagship occupies roughly 1,100 square feet and was designed as a fully immersive environment rather than a conventional store layout, reinforcing Papa Don’t Preach’s identity as an experiential fashion brand. The collaboration between brand founder Shubhika Sharma and DesignHex founder Shimona Bhansali also adds a personal dimension—the sisters translated couture craftsmanship directly into spatial form, ensuring every surface, display, and visual moment echoes the artistry of the garments themselves. The result is a retail space that functions simultaneously as boutique, fantasy world, and brand manifesto.
