Today, 100% of admission fees and donations to the Harriet Beecher Stowe House will support our Oral History Project; an ongoing initiative led by our Community Engagement Coordinator, Zinnia Stewart, to document and preserve the lived experiences of Cincinnatians. 🎙️✍🏾

Oral histories ensure that history stays alive to inform and empower us. They capture the voices, memories, and perspectives that might otherwise be lost to time. As we celebrate Juneteenth and reflect on the importance of freedom and resilience, we invite you to support this work by visiting the house, making a donation, or helping us spread the word. 📗💚

Hello! We are thrilled you are planning to join us Sunday afternoon 12-4pm for our annual free community celebration, Happy Birthday Harriet!

This FREE annual celebration honors voices raised for truth and brings together history, arts, literature, music, and family-friendly activities for guests of all ages.

We will be celebrating rain or shine! See the updated schedule below.

Free parking is available on the side streets and our small parking lot is reserved for visitors with mobility limitations. We are also easily accessibly by several bus lines.

12:20pm / Welcome & Announcements (outdoors)
12:30pm / Classical & Jazz Guitar with the Richard Goering Trio (outdoors)
1:15pm / Happy Birthday Harriet! - Singing, cupcakes & ice cream (outdoors)

We are honored to share that the Harriet Beecher Stowe House has received a 2026 Leadership in History Award from American Association for State and Local History! 🏅🙌🏾

This national recognition celebrates our innovative two-era restoration, completed in 2024, which allows visitors to explore the house during both Harriet Beecher Stowe’s time in the 1840s and the Edgemont Inn era of the 1940s. Through these layered stories, the house continues to spark conversation about history, truth, and justice.

Thank you to everyone who has visited, supported, and shared in this work. We are so grateful for our guests, volunteers, staff, and Walnut Hills community. We couldn't do this without you! 🙏🏾💚🏡

Join us this SAT for our FREE Evanston Brady Block Party at the Evanston Playground starting at 6:30PM!
