Finger Lakes Wine Museum Founded in 1967, The Finger Lakes Wine Museum is the oldest wine museum in America and is dedicated to Greyton H. Taylor. The home of the WST Art Gallery.

We house a wide collection of rare bottles, wine glasses, cooper tools and winemaking equipment.

As we finally begin to welcome spring to Keuka Lake, let's take a look back at another year (1948 I believe) when Keuka Lake froze solid. It was more common for the lake to freeze completely back then. These photos were taken in a single engine plane by the Taylor Wine Company to get a survey of their vineyards.

Congratulations to Artemis 2 on their successful launch. Our Founder Walter S. Taylor attended the Apollo 11 launch in 1969. He had press credentials and took a number of photos of the launch seen here. Photographing the launch inspired him to paint the Space Shuttle Columbia in 1981 and even became an official member of NASA in the 1980s.

Gone but not forgotten, Turback’s of Ithaca was one of the first restaurants to support and champion the post Farm Winery Act Finger Lakes wine industry. The Roualet Wine Company as it looked in the early 20th century. Also known as the Glen Wine Company and the Mallory Mill. The building was constructed in Hammondsport in 1836 entirely of stone and still stands today. It is one of the tallest stone structures in the North East.

Remember when Ringo Starr, former Beatle and drummer extraordinaire, landed a multi million dollar contract with the then Canandaigua Wine Company? His job was to promote Sun Country Wine Coolers; a massively popular carbonated wine and fruit mix which was the precursor to today's canned cocktails.

Did you know there is a grape called Buffalo that was developed by Cornell University in the 1920’s? Buffalo is a hybrid grape that has a fruity Concord like flavor. Known for its large berries it makes an excellent garden variety. Notably, it was one of the parent grapes that produced the Finger Lakes staple GR-7 Geneva Red.
