We had another great ModelMaina yesterday. To all the guys that worked to put the show together, for the guys that came out Saturday morning to set up the venue and then came in to take it all down, thank you for your work and dedication to the show. To all the guys that volunteered to judge, you got it done on time and did it well. Thank you for your hard work.

We couldn't have had such a great show without all of you. Again thank you all.

Only a week until Model Mania 2026! IPMS Houston would like to invite you to our annual show and contest, Model Mania, on Saturday May 2, 2026 from 9am to 5pm at the Stafford Centre in Stafford, TX. This year's theme is "Texas", which includes any subject in any scale with a connection to the Lone Star State. There will be a large vendor area so you can hunt down some good deals on models and supplies.

Visited the new Hobbytown in Spring. It just opened. If you like Gundam, they have plenty of kits. They have RC cars and planes, Legos, wargaming, and a Millennium Falcon. Didn't see any other Star Wars. No scale models, except some paper models of wildlife. Had no paint, no cement or tools. So, if want to build your Gundam you'll have tools somewhere else. Left slightly disappointed. I don't plan on going back anytime soon.

Another ModelMania has come gone. We had a great show. A big thank you to the all guys that came out and set things up, and then took it back down, to all the guys that handled registration, to all the guys that worked the Make 'n Take table. Many many thanks to all the guys that judged the entries. We would not have had such a great show without your hard work. Till next year good fortune and happy modeling!

Only two weeks until Model Mania 2025! Contest registration is now open, with this year's theme being "007, License to Build" for anything related to the James Bond franchise. Info is here:

Vendors, there are 19 tables left, so if you'd like a spot in southeast Texas' premier model show, there's still time to get one. In the event of a sellout, there will be a standby list started. Those on that list will be able to purchase tables on a first come, first served basis in the event a no show or cancellation results in empty tables. Loading dock doors will open between 6:30am and 6:45am to allow us to get the contest and vendor rooms set up. Your assistance in this would be greatly appreciated. If you cannot attend for any reason, please notify us at least 24 before show date. If you are not on site by 9:00am without notifying us, you will forfeit your tables and payment and those tables will go to the standby list. The vendor registration form is here:

Encore Ushering service will be providing meals on show day from 8:00am until show close at 5:00pm. You can preorder ahead of the show, or order at the show and their staff will deliver to your booth. Menu and prices are listed below.
We will be holding a make and take model building session for aspiring modelers of all ages! We will have airplane and car kits available, as well as expert guidance from club members. So come on out and see what the hobby is all about!
