Tipton-Haynes State Historic Site

Tipton-Haynes is pleased to continue to work with our local blacksmiths and offer our next class on November 14th at 9:30am and 1pm. The 9:30am class will be creating their own Forged Leaves for key chains or hair sticks, while the 1pm class will be creating Marlin Spikes for working with rope. If interested please contact the site to register. You will need to provide your name, age, contact information, and emergency contact information. Classes are $60.00 per participant. Tipton-Haynes Historical Association is a recipient of a $84,500.00 grant for Capital Maintenance and Improvements from the State of Tennessee as administered through the Tennessee State Museum. This grant will go to the expansion of the parking lot at Tipton-Haynes. For years now we have out grown the small parking area we have for visitor and staff parking. This grant will give staff their own parking area and add eight more parking spaces for the public. The additions will also allow for dedicated bus parking. We look forward to this project and the greatly improved accessibility to the site. We would like to thank the State Museum for their decision in aiding the site's expansion. We know it was a hard decision with so many applications to choose from.

Thank you to Ridgeview Elementary for joining the site today. The students got to make candles, paper, and punch tin, while visiting the house and cave.

Thank you to everyone who braved the weather and visited the site for Stories from the Pumpkin Patch. It was a fun afternoon even with the wind and rain. We also had a couple of passerby the night before. Everyone be on the lookout
