Thank you to the Tennessee State Museum Capital Maintenance Grant, the Tennessee State Museum, and Ridgeline Construction. This grant funded the restoration of the outdoor bathrooms of the historic site. They are now ADA compliant with all new fixtures, lighting, and even a shower. It has been a longtime coming and this grant has allowed the site to advance its public accommodations for years to come.

Today we remember the passing of Almedia Faith Stahl on May 24, 2011. Faith as she was affectionately known as, was born in 1913 in Carroll County, Virginia and attended Radford State Teachers College (present-day Radford University) and Appalachian State Teachers College (present-day Appalachian State University) before receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from Milligan College (present-day Milligan University) in 1954. On August 25, 1941, she married Ray Stahl in Indianapolis, Indiana. They both were members of the Tipton-Haynes Historical Association during the 1960s through the 1980s. She also served as President of the Historical Association from 1970 to 1971 and as the site's first Executive Director from 1983 to 1986. In 1984, she created the First Families of Franklin Certificate to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the State of Franklin. She is pictured here leisurely sitting at the mouth of the site's historic limestone cave.

Thank you to all that came out to this year's Spring Gala. It was a night of good food and laughter. Mr. Gideon Daniels, President of the TN Children of the American Revolution, presented this years presidential project to our guests. This project is to directly benefit Tipton-Haynes and aid its efforts in expanding its mobile educational exhibition. We look forward to working closely with Gideon and to hosting another dinner in December for Visions of Christmas.

It was another great day for a fieldtrip. We got to host Jonesborough Elementary 2nd grade this morning. Over 100 students got to roam across the grounds and experience the sites history first hand.
