It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of a cherished member of the Milwaukee Clipper family, Bill Petersen.

If you’ve walked the decks of the Clipper, you’ve seen Bill’s legacy in action. As a dedicated volunteer and skilled welder, Bill spent countless hours pouring his craftsmanship, hard work, and passion into restoring and preserving this historic ship. His dedication played a vital role in keeping her history alive for future generations.

Bill’s love for the SS Milwaukee Clipper went beyond his time on board. In a final, touching tribute to the ship he cared for so deeply, Bill designated SS Milwaukee Clipper Preservation Inc. as his memorial fund.

We extend our deepest condolences to Bill’s family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him. Fair winds and following seas, Bill. Thank you for everything.
