Centered on curatorial projects, Field Projects presents monthly exhibitions at their Chelsea location in addition to pop-up exhibitions throughout New York City. Artists and curators are invited to submit their work for consideration in future exhibitions through our submissions guidelines starting in January 2012.

Re.tangle is an experimental, iterative art space centered around a communal loom, exploring themes of polycrisis and ecofeminism. The interactive fiber sculpture, initially constructed in 2024, has been previously activated in upstate New York, Massachusetts, and Ohio. In its Chelsea presentation, the project is in dialogue with the issues shaping New York City, including extreme heat, pollution, and flooding.

Sonic Loom Activations: Throughout the exhibition we invite the public to activate the space. The loom, sonically modified with contact microphones, will generate an interactive soundscape during collaborative weaving. We will host a series of gatherings in conjunction with Climate Week 2026 activists - additional details will be announced.

Re.tangle aims to cultivate belonging and collective infrastructure amidst ecological instability. The reclaimed-material loom becomes a model of interdependence, with each strand contributing to the strength of the whole. How might we build a resilient future?

Re.tangle is an experimental, iterative art space centered around a communal loom, exploring themes of polycrisis and ecofeminism. The interactive fiber sculpture, initially constructed in 2024, has been previously activated in upstate New York, Massachusetts, and Ohio. In its Chelsea presentation, the project is in dialogue with the climate migration and environmental justice issues shaping New York City, including extreme heat, pollution, and flooding.

Sonic Loom Activations: Throughout the exhibition we invite the public to activate the space. The loom, sonically modified by barbie.ai with contact microphones, will generate an interactive soundscape during collaborative weaving. We will host a series of gatherings in conjunction with Climate Week 2026, featuring activists such as Christian Vanizette and Jospheine Goube. Additional details on activations will be announced.

Circle of Stones is a garden party in the dead of night, attended by the gentry and good folk of the forest. A midnight garden party, while enchanting, is a dangerous place to find yourself. This is where the edges of the miraculous and malevolent blur. The offerings around the gallery are gifts of these bizarre gardeners. Their solemn charge is to nurture the blooming fruit before us and encourage us to wander the paths of their arcane labyrinth. ⁠

The artists included in Circle of Stones use materials such as paint, porcelain, thread, human hair, lenses and debris to place themselves in relation to the (un)natural world. The artists explore the mythos of the wilds, portals to parallel realms, and how we as humans value the living things around us. At times that value is illustrated through precious marveling and at other times through psychological terror. ⁠
