MVHM&G has lots of exciting events this May!
Starting on May 5th, our first exhibition since 2020 will be open!
This special exhibition; Treasures from the Collection: Founding Fathers is the rare opportunity to view important objects from our collection; included are original letters from George Washington, John Adams, and Elias Boudinot, a president of the Continental Congress and a signer of the Declaration of Independence.
This exhibition will be included with every tour!
On Thursday, May 14th at 12pm we will be offering our special program, “50 Years of American Independence at the Mount Vernon Hotel”. This tour pairs perfectly with our new exhibition, as you learn more about the founding fathers and their impact in the early 19th century.
If you missed the chance to join us for Plein-Air Watercoloring on Earth Day, you’re in luck! We’re offering another workshop on Friday, May 15th at 11am. Learn to watercolor in the garden of a historic landmark. Materials provided. This workshop will be led by professional artist Peggy Roalf.
And as always, we’re offering our tried and true classic guided tour of MVHM&G. Now including our special exhibition Treasures from the Collection: Founding Fathers.
Tours are currently offered Mondays and Tuesdays at 10:30, 12:00, 1:30, and 3:00; Wednesdays at 1:30, 3:00; Thursdays and Fridays at 10:30 and 12:00; exceptions will be made for special events or other programs.
