Hey, Chester County friends! Did you know you some of Hagley’s collections have crossed the state line? Through October, there is a display of Hagley Museum’s patent models in the gallery of the Kennett Library.

Hagley holds the world’s second largest collection of patent models which were required to be submitted with a patent application from 1790 to 1880. Guests can learn more about the origin of the U.S. patent system and innovation in the 19th century in Hagley’s Nation of Inventors exhibition.

Even better, you can receive FREE admission to Hagley Museum by checking out a Museum Pass available to current Chester County Library patrons: https://pulse.ly/0blveq2snb.

Important visitor update:

Hagley is caring for the past with the future in mind. From Monday, August 24, through Friday, September 4, the historic Powder Yard will be temporarily closed while important preservation work is performed to help protect this special place for our community and future generations.

While the work is being conducted, museum admission will be 50% off, making this a wonderful opportunity to experience Hagley at a great price during a beautiful time of year.

Stroll through the Pollinator and E. I. du Pont Gardens, find antique vehicles in the Hagley Barn, explore the historic du Pont family home, and discover the stories of 19th-century innovation in our Nation of Inventors exhibition. From innovation to transporation to horticulture, explore the spaces that make Hagley such a unique place to visit.

We appreciate your understanding as we continue preserving Hagley for generations to come.

It was a little overcast today, but that just made the colors pop even more in the E. I. du Pont Garden. The zinnias brightened the day with their bold red, pink, and yellow petals. The number of swallowtails who flew so close was amazing.
