Have you seen this Unicorn?

We have questions. LolliHop Puppet Theatre reckon they have answers.

Join us at Thinktank for Unicorns Are Real, an investigation involving puppets, fossils, magical potions and some rather fantastical theories.

If you have any information regarding the existence of unicorns, or simply want to see the evidence for yourself, please report to the Theatre on Level 3 at 11.30am or 3pm this Saturday or Sunday.

Still not convinced? You can also get involved in some hands-on unicorn-related creativity at the drop-in puppet-making workshops in Find Your Future on Level 2.

Puppet-making workshops: 11am - 2.45pm & 3.30pm - 4.30pm.

We can't promise you'll leave believing in unicorns. But you might leave with one of your own.

Santa is coming to Thinktank this December.

Make some magical Christmas memories with us this festive season. Whether you’d like to enjoy breakfast with Santa or bring the little ones along to meet him in his workshop, we have two special experiences to help make Christmas extra magical.

Santa’s Workshop

Join Santa and his elves for a festive 45-minute experience filled with Christmas cheer. Little ones can get creative with a Christmas craft activity, meet Santa individually, receive a special gift and have a photo to remember their visit.

Breakfast with Santa

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at our Signal Box Cafe before Santa arrives to visit every table. He’ll have a special gift for each child, plenty of Christmas cheer and time for that all-important festive photo.

Join us at Thinktank Science Museum in Birmingham on Saturday 14 November as we celebrate LGBTQIA+ people and their contributions to science.

There’s lots happening throughout the museum, with something for all ages.

▪️Watch Fab-lab-ulous!, a colourful, interactive science show inspired by LGBTQIA+ scientists, presented by Sarah Cosgriff (she/they).

▪️ Follow our LGBTQIA+ museum trail and discover some of the incredible people who have helped shape STEM.

▪️ Meet people working in science and heritage, find out more about what they do and get involved in our Skills Spotlight activities.

▪️ Have a go at some Kitchen Science and see what you can discover.

▪️ And little ones can join us in the Den for story time with 'Along Came a Different' by Tom McLaughlin, a story about celebrating what makes us different.

Imagine lying beneath the stars while the sounds of gongs, crystal bowls and chimes surround you.

On 7 November, Thinktank's Planetarium is being transformed into a space for deep relaxation with Planetarium Soundbath: New Moon.

For 60 minutes, local sound practitioner Manoj of will guide you through an immersive sound journey, surrounded by the stars and beyond on the Planetarium's 360-degree digital dome.

A chance to slow down, switch off and simply be.

Whether you're completely new to soundbaths or already love them, this is a pretty special setting to experience one.

From Germany to Japan, Queen Heaven has been rocking planetariums around the world and now it’s at Thinktank Science Museum this Friday.

Originally produced in 2001 and approved by Queen, this spectacular 360° show surrounds you with the music and visuals of one of the greatest bands of all time.

Expect Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, Radio Ga Ga and We Are the Champions, brought to life through classic music videos, immersive visuals and archive footage.

And this isn’t your usual planetarium show. It’s a full-on Queen experience under the dome.

⚠️ Please note: the show contains non-astronomy content and some visuals may cause a sensation of movement.

Ready to rock?

Showing in our planetarium at 5pm and 7:30pm on Friday 9 October, 13 November and 11 December.

Join us this Saturday for Morning Explorers at Thinktank Science Museum in Birmingham.

We're opening our doors at 9am to a limited number of visitors, offering a quieter, autism-friendly experience before the museum opens to everyone.

MiniBrum and the Science Garden will open at 9:30am, giving families the chance to explore at a more relaxed pace.

Places are limited, so pre-booking is essential.

Can you spot a fly agaric?

Autumn is a great time to head out for a woodland walk, and if you're lucky, you might spot one of these striking red-and-white mushrooms along the way.

Fly agaric is often found growing alongside birch trees, forming a special partnership with their roots. The fungus helps the tree access water and nutrients, while the tree provides the fungus with sugars.

They might look like something from a fairytale, but don't be tempted to eat one. Fly agaric is toxic and can cause hallucinations, confusion, sickness and other effects.
