It's Dinosaur Day! So we are celebrating with another joke with thanks to Professors Egg'n'Egg from Highly Sprung who visited us during May half-term for our dinosaur adventures.

Did you know you can now explore Thinktank with our new Digital Guide?

Scan the QR code at the museum entrance and use your phone's camera to interact with objects throughout the museum. Simply point, discover and ask questions to unlock even more information about the exhibits around you.

It's a great way to explore our collections in more depth and learn even more about the incredible stories behind the objects on display.

When John Hammond opened Jurassic Park, he assured everyone the dinosaurs couldn't escape.

We all know how that turned out...

Tonight, you can watch the original Jurassic Park in Thinktank's Planetarium after exploring the museum and coming face-to-face with our own dinosaur exhibits.

Create your own dinosaur with artist Sharonjit Sutton on Friday 29 May between 11am and 3pm.

Dream up a prehistoric creature with its own personality, habitat and special powers, then bring it to life with colour, texture and plenty of imagination.

Once your dinosaur is finished, take it on adventures around the museum and invent stories along the way.

A fun drop-in workshop. Suitable for all ages (children must be supervised by an adult).

This Thursday (28 May) join our exciting Dino Lab sessions and get hands-on with fossil hunting in our Science Garden. What treasures will you uncover… will you discover a trilobite, an ammonite, or even an Allosaurus tooth?

Little explorers can paint and print dinosaur footprints and compare different dinosaur tracks. Drop-in sessions take place from 11am - 12:30pm and 2pm - 3:30pm.

Perfect for younger dinosaur fans, our DinoSTORY time brings the adorable book Am I Yours? by Alex Latimer to life with storytelling, stomping, giggles and plenty of dinosaur ROARS. Sessions at 10:45am and 11:45am.

Plus, get creative with and enjoy a prehistoric-themed eco-craft activity inspired by sustainability, nature and dinosaurs from 11am - 4pm.

With hands-on activities, storytelling and family fun across the museum, it’s the perfect dinosaur day out this half-term.
