The Walker Art Gallery houses an internationally-renowned collection of paintings, sculpture and decorative art. Discover Local Innovation, Global Inspiration: Celebrating 100 Years of Glass at the Walker Art Gallery.

Featuring 11 remarkable pieces spanning from around 1905 to the early 2000s, the display explores a century of changing techniques, colour, texture and form. From pioneering Studio Glass artists Sam Herman and Peter Layton to the organic-inspired work of Siddy Langley, Nick Munro and Charlie Macpherson 🌀✨ The display was curated by University of Liverpool MA students Emily Mohammed and Megan Eynon-Daly.

✨🎨Gender Stories traces the spectrum of genders and their expression across time and place, exploring how gender intersects with s*x, class, s*xuality and heritage to shape who we are. Discover a diverse collection of fine and decorative art, personal stories and objects, and explore the many ways gender has been expressed, experienced and understood.

✨🎥 John Akomfrah: Listening All Night To The Rain is an immersive series of multi-channel video installations exploring diasporic experiences in Britain, reflecting on pivotal moments in colonial and post-colonial history, including memory, migration, racial injustice and climate change.

A meeting of music and Victorian imagination in the gallery today. ❤️‍🔥🥀🌀

From dreamy landscapes, to stories of love, longing and transformation, the Pre-Raphaelites continue to inspire artists today.
