This Sunday is the last day of Hackney History Festival 2026. Here’s how to spend it.

🚶 11am — Walk Hackney Marshes with a WW1 historian, tracing the story of Leyton Orient’s players who went to war. Clapton’s Orient heritage trail

🎻 12pm — Live cello at Sutton House. Thomas Tallis, 17th-century Mary Dering, Scottish Pibroch. Then make a collage of Hackney’s buildings to take home. Free, drop in.

🎨 2pm — Sketching, graffiti rubbing and cyanotype at St Augustine’s Tower — Hackney’s oldest building. Free, just turn up.

🎬 2pm — Women from Hackney’s History at the Rio Cinema. A film about 11 women from 1670 to the 20th century — including Clara Ludski, who founded the very cinema where it screens. Followed by a live panel.

One last Sunday. Make it count.
