Graves Gallery

Graves Gallery Part of Sheffield Museums, the Graves Gallery is Art Deco home to the city’s visual art collection.
(1)

Located in the heart of the city, the Graves Gallery and Central Library building opened in 1934 thanks to the generosity of local businessman and benefactor, JG Graves. Today the gallery shows a remarkable collection of painting and sculpture spanning from the 16th to the 21st century, including work by Turner, Cezanne, Vanessa Bell, Bridget Riley, Donald Rodney, Sam Taylor-Wood, Damien Hirst and

Grayson Perry. Displays showcasing Sheffield’s visual art collection are complemented by a programme of temporary exhibitions. The gallery recently completed a series of improvements and refurbishment, alongside the first phase of a four year redisplay programme, which have been generously supported by the Ampersand Foundation.
