Official launch of the Pride of Yorkshire

So last night was quite the do, music from everyone Sheffield was playing, a thousand guests and hundreds of Lions for the forthcoming

Truly extraordinary, it looked amazing.
It’s such an honour and a privilege being a part of it all.

The Lions are now at the Sheffield Utilita Arena to meet their friends and introduce themselves to all of us… wow!

A bit more info for now…

My Lions were designed and drawn and painted to celebrate the It has been 75 Years since it was set up by Ethel Haythornthwaite and her husband Gerald. Hence the names honouring them both. One side of Ethel tells a very stylised story about the Peak District in my maximalist style with a lot of small detail showing the various elements that go together to make up this first national park.
Ethel’s other side tells the Sheffield story with dozens of icons and lots of hidden detail with a boundary down the length of her back.

Gerald, along similar lines, has my Contour Map of Edale ( a little over stylised down his legs ! ) on one side and the Peak District 75 years celebration on the other side. More on the making of this later.

It really has been a privilege to paint these lions and a learning curve being let loose on a large 3D sculpture of such beauty. It's been quite a thing!

Hi everyone. Good morning !!
I have chosen our new statement of care to restart our social posts...
It seems so apt since it is the very core of everything we do.

So here we go, a new chapter... it all starts here. It genuinely feels like everything to date has been wonderful, but always with the overwhelming excitement of what is yet to do. There will be art installations, new art, new product ranges and new homeware products but they will all be with the old vibe with care at its heart.

We have moved !

Phew… That took a bit longer than planned for. We have finally moved to our new Gallery in the City Centre of Sheffield!

46 van loads, 50,000 calories of box lifting, shelf making, warehouse filling, painting, sawing and displaying and we are there.

The NEW Gallery Shop in Sheffield is OPEN for business with the same days and hours as before. Tue to Sat, 10am - 5pm.

We so hope you love it as much as Hathersage, I absolutely love having the space and the fact we have kept the same look and vibe, albeit a bit tidier and a lot less cramped!

It’s going to be a happy home, the last one was one helluva chapter. So many happy experiences, memories, and extraordinary conversations on just about everything. I’m sure there’s a book in there. Meanwhile I’m is going to get my head down and do the new space some justice, using it to finalise the new art and the new ranges I’ve been working on for years and get them to market.

So here’s to a grand opening in a few months, then a series of new product launches shortly thereafter. For those of you who have followed me since the beginning seven years ago, pretty much what we promised back then, with a few unexpected surprises and twists. Yey! Here’s to the next big chapter.

This delightful scene graces August in our Peak District Calendar which features 12 brand new colourful drawings. Over the years, our calendars have gained a bit of a cult following. We're so grateful to everyone who buys a copy each year, and love that so many of you have left such glowing reviews on our website.
