Following a £1.4m refurbishment, made possible thanks to funding from Advantage West Midlands, the site that once was home to the glass trade greats of Royal Doulton and Webb Corbett is continuing to help the glass trade thrive in Stourbridge. The Ruskin Glass Centre is home to a wide array of glass crafts; from glassblowing, respected studio glass artists, stained glass, engravers, glass decorato

rs, glass enamels and glass repair specialists to the diverse yet complementary trades of creative woodwork, handmade soap, cake making, jewellery, textiles, printmaking, stone carving and publishing.

Have you spotted the May offer on the Natroma Organic Soaps? Receive a free bar when you buy 8 (full size 95g bars) and you'll still receive the usual multi-buy discount. Time to stock up! 😁

Have you spotted that Natroma Facial Cleansers are available in a new size? The larger 150ml Eco pump allows you to buy more cleanser (with a 5% saving) with less plastic! ♻️

Natroma facial creams are packaged in airless fully recyclable pump packaging so they're hygienic (open cosmetic jars are breeding grounds for bacteria and fungi), convenient (you can dispense the correct amount), reduce waste (the pump design expels all of the cream) and can use gentle ingredients (the airless storage environment means there's no need for harsh preservatives).

Hope everyone is enjoying the warm weather! Suspect I may be a little warm in the workshop this week, but I'm open as usual.😊 The decking and stairs at the Ruskin are being painted this week, so please walk up the slope to enter the building.

A 9th Century story that tells of the naïve, innocent Parsifal, the ‘young fool’, kept isolated in the woods by his mother to protect him from the world. Meeting a group of Knights one day, he sets off on a journey of discovery in search of becoming a Knight of King Arthurs Round Table and ultimately the Holy Grail.

Parsifal’s journey challenges him with unexpected lessons, relationships and spiritual wisdom gradually learnt through the qualities of empathy, compassion and ultimately true and selfless love. A story that encourages each one of us to ask ourselves and consider in others, as in the case of the ailing King – ‘What ails thee?’

Peter Oswald is an English poet and playwright. He was Writer in Residence at Shakespeare’s Globe and a founder member of the Columbina Theatre Company, which creates new verse drama with commedia roots. He has written three verse plays for the Ruskin Mill Educational Trust and is currently Associate Writer at the Marylebone Theatre, in London.

Food and refreshments are available during the interval.
