Join one of our knowledgable guides as they help uncover the history of the lives of the ordinary people who worked here. Bookable tours will take place on 17, 18 and 19 October, every hour between 10am - 4pm, with a chance to explore the exhibitions and displays at the end.

Take a look at these drawings from 1904 from the archives...

At Blists Hill, the Visitor Experience team are exploring ways to improve wayfinding and went to the Curatorial team for support on research on traditional Victorian signpost styles.

The team dug out a couple of objects from our archives that showed period appropriate signposts. One of these was a design by the Coalbrookdale Company, the internationally significant ironworks based in Ironbridge Gorge.

The design was for a sign post designed and produced by the company in 1904 and destined for a junction north-east of Northampton. Looking closely at the plan shows its size, the various designs used, and elements of the sign post that required patterns to be made, suggesting the company weren't regularly producing them.

Our rich archives are used constantly for research into a wide range of subjects, including the development of our sites and their stories.

Tickets for the first week of half term, and our All Hallows event at Blists Hill are now available.

Join us this October half term from 17 October - 1st November for a family-friendly celebration of history, myths and legends, folklore and autumnal charm. Experience authentic Victorian sights, sounds, and atmosphere of the season, in a time long before pumpkins and trick-or-treating.

When we asked the team to 'bring the past to life' they took it quite literally!

Our spectacularly spooky staff and volunteers are working hard behind the scenes to get ready for October half term and our All Hallows event where traditional Victorian tales of witches, ghosts and age-old superstitions are brought to life with family trails and costumed interpreters.

Starting from 17 October until 1 November, book your visits to Blists Hill on the website to experience the authentic sights, sounds and atmosphere of the season.

Tickets are released every Thursday for the following two weeks. So, tickets for the first week of half term will be available from Thursday 8 October, and tickets for the second week of half term will be available from Thursday 15 October.

New pin badge incoming!

George will be starring on our new Ironbridge pin badge. But we need your help to decide which design to move forward with. Vote for you favourite by liking the image and the one with the most likes, will be made into a special pin badge.

Sales of the pinbadge will go back into looking after all the sites in our care across Ironbridge.

October half term is 'creeping' up on us...

This autumn, dress up in your spookiest outfits and step back in time for our 'All Hallows' event. See the past brought to life by our costumed interpreters with tales of witches, ghosts, and age-old superstitions. Enjoy traditional decorations, carved turnips, and family-friendly trails which focus on the folklore, myths, and legends of Blists Hill.

Experience the sights, sounds, and atmosphere of an authentic, traditional Victorian town as you discover a time long before the modern day pumpkins and trick-or-treating.

All Hallows will run daily from 17 October - 1 November at Blists Hill. Booking is essential, with more tickets available every Thursday for the following two weeks. See the link in the comments for more information.

The next wave of tickets have been released this morning for Blists Hill and Jackfield Tile Museum.

Enjoy a day out this October and soak up the autumnal atmosphere in the Victorian Town of Blists Hill as costumed interpreters bring history to life. Discover centuries of tile making and stroll through a London Underground Station and a 1940s pub at Jackfield Tile Museum.
