Chedham's Yard A prize-winning heritage site near Stratford-upon-Avon. Chedham’s Yard is a prize-winning former 19th century blacksmith’s and wheelwright’s workshop.

It has recently been restored and the heritage site is now open to the public on Saturdays and on a pre-booked basis.

Stephen Munn returns to Chedham's Yard to demonstrate the tools and skills involved in making a longbow. He is always happy to explain the process to fascinated onlookers.
We have a working forge and woodturners too. The yard is full of tolls and machinery from the last 200 years of wheelwrighting in Wellesbourne. Come and see us between 11 and 4pm (last entry 3pm) on Saturday.
We have a visitor centre too with a small cafe.

Chedham's Yard in Wellesbourne is taking part for the third time in Wellesbourne village Open Gardens for Wildlife event. See what we do to encourage wild flora and fauna. Warwickshire Wildlife Trust will also tell us about their activities.
The yard is full of old wheelwrighting tools and machinery dating back over 200 years. We also have our resident wood turners and blacksmith on hand to show you their skills plus guides to tell you about the place.
Finish off your visit with a stop in our visitor centre for delicious cake plus hot and cold drinks.
We are open on Saturday 16 May from 11 to 4pm last entry 3pm - and it's free entry!

Avril Smoulders is with us again to show us how willow stems can be woven to make baskets and to encourage you to have a go. Our own Chedham’s Yard willow trees provide some of her material.

Watch and talk to our working blacksmith and woodturners. Our knowledgeable, entertaining volunteers will take you round, or you can just wander and enjoy the vast collection of tools, once vital to village life. The visitor centre offers tea, coffee, soft drinks and cake, plus the opportunity to buy unique hand-crafted items made by our woodturners and other volunteers.

Today at Chedham's Yard, Wellesbourne Robin Hill joins us again to demonstrate his wheelwrighting skills. We also have Peter Shadbolt with his extensive display of cartwheel hub caps.
Our blacksmith will be in the forge, our woodturner in his shed, cake in the cafe and tour guides on hand. Chedham's Yard is crammed through with interesting artifacts from the last 200 years of wheelwrighting and forging. It's a lovely sunny day too!
We will be open from 11 to 4pm last entry 3pm.

It's Tyring Day today at Chedham's Yard in Wellesbourne. It may be a bit drizzly but we will be lighting a fire to heat up a metal hoop to red hot then cooling it around a wooden cart wheel. There will be a lot of smoke and steam. We will start this around 12.15 so don't miss it!
We will also have our usual tours around the yard - wheelwrights shed, drying shed, wood turners shed and working forge.

The cafe will be open too for cake and drinks.

Entry is free. We will be open from 11 am to 4pm last entry at 3pm.

Come to Chedham's Yard, Wellesbourne on Easter Saturday and join in the bunny hunt. Find all the bunnies and you win an egg!
We have all the usual stuff too - old tools and machinery from the last 200 years used by the Chedham's family to repair carts and farming equipment. Our forge will be lit and a blacksmith will surely be striking hot metal. We have wood turners demonstrating their skills too. There are guided tours if you want them or just wander and look. Finish off with cake and a drink in our little cafe.
Entry and the bunny hunt are FREE!

Chedham's Yard in Wellesbourne is opening again on Easter Saturday and those easter Bunnies have been hiding around the yard. We urgently need small children to come and find them. If you can find them all you get a small Easter egg. It is all free too, including entry.
Mums and Dads can find enjoy our cafe (where you do have to spend money) for teas, coffees, cold drinks and cake.
We will have our blacksmith in the working forge and wood turners in their shed. There's loads of old tools and equipment dating back over the last 200 years when the Chedham's family worked here making and repairing carts an farming equipment.

We had a terrific response to our recent FB post for blacksmith experiences - over 25 enquiries and we only have 52 places for the whole year. If you missed the post and are still looking for a Christmas present for your loved one then why not a blacksmith experience at Chedham's Yard, Wellesbourne. Our forge is 200 years old so you have a very authentic time with one of our (slightly younger) blacksmiths. The session will last at least two and a half hours and you can take away whatever you make. We even give you coffee and cake. So if you wish to buy a voucher email [email protected]
We only 1 or 2 participants at a time and it costs just £50. We are open on Saturdays only, from Easter through to end of September.

Looking for a special Christmas present? Why not buy a Blacksmith Experience at Chedham's Yard in Wellesbourne. You will spend at least 2 1/2 hours with one of our blacksmiths in our 200 year old forge. It costs just £50 for a voucher which can be used next year on a Saturday when we are open again - Easter to the end of September. That is whole lot cheaper than other forges. You can take away whatever you make and we give you coffee and cake! There will be no more than 2 participants with the blacksmith.
