With the support of its active membership of over 400 independent photographers, the Museum serves as a resource base and informal meeting point for everyone interested in photography. Members of Photo Museum Ireland receive:

Headshots and portraits serve different purposes - learn what sets them apart in our hands-on photography workshop led by artist and professional photographer Myles Shelly.

This hands-on workshop breaks down when and why each is used, and shows you how to create an effective headshot that works in real-world situations. A wonderful afternoon exploring light across Dublin using SIGMA lenses with Myles Shelly on Saturday.

Suitable for all levels, we started off constructing still-life setups and experimenting with light using portrait photography. Then, we explored architectural photography and outdoor portraiture through Temple Bar and the vibrant streets of Dublin City.

JUNIOR SUMMER CAMPS – Experimental Photography & Zine-Making for Ages 10-15

Join artist Darragh Shanahan for exciting, hands-on photographic fun this July. Over the course of a week, we'll dive into both analogue and digital techniques – from building pinhole cameras to developing film in the darkroom, using DSLRs, experimenting with light drawing, and creating handmade photography zines.

Inspired by experimental photography pioneer Carlotta Corpron, we'll explore how light becomes art – through reflection, shadow, collage, and more. This is the one for young creatives ready to try out all that photography has to offer, meet other young artists, and start building their own creative portfolio. No experience needed – just curiosity.

Experience an evening of deep relaxation and immersive sound set within Shane Hynan's Beneath | Beofhód, a photographic exploration of Ireland's peatlands, landscapes, and our connection to the natural world.

Thursday 25 June | 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

This special sound bath experience combines Tibetan singing bowls, gong, drum, chimes, voice and other instruments to create a rich and restorative soundscape against the contemplative backdrop of the exhibition for an evening of stillness, listening, and reflection. The session is led by sound healing therapist and meditation teacher Simone Meschnig, accompanied by sound healing practitioner Nigel, a Thai yoga massage therapist.
