Pence Gallery The Pence Gallery is a free, nonprofit art gallery, dedicated to providing exhibits by local artists.

The Pence Gallery is a cultural venue in downtown Davis that displays 12 exhibits of art in all media, by visual artists living and working in the Sacramento Valley and greater Bay Area. Education programs such as KidsCreate, ArtSmart, and lectures are all part of our mission to connect the community with fascinating artists and in-depth information about art.

"Infinity Garden" by Leslie Allen is one of the wonderful paintings featured along the stairway as part of the Garden Tour Landscapes show, which ends this week on June 21. Our Treasure Sale opens on Friday! This annual fundraiser is a popular event at the Pence, and shoppers are guaranteed to discover unique and interesting items, all at great prices. Shop this Friday-Sunday, 11:30 AM - 5 PM & next Monday, 11:30 AM - 3 PM.

There's only one week left to view Linda Clark Johnson's Sunshine & Shadows exhibit at the Pence. Her cyanotype artworks are vibrant and eye-catching, merging nature and art in a stunning way. In addition to her original artworks on display, she also has giclee prints and notecards available for purchase. Head upstairs to see her exhibit through June 21, 2026.

Drop-off for our annual community art show is just around the corner! We love showcasing the wide range of creativity and talent by local artists through this non-juried exhibit. If you'd like to participate in Exhibit It!, artwork drop-off is on June 26 beginning at 11:30 AM until spaces fill (50 spots). Please be prepared to fill out information about your piece including the title, year made, medium, dimensions, retail price, etc.

Requirements:
- For artists ages 16 and up
- One artwork in any medium per artist
- No more than 30" (in any direction, including frame)
- No more than 50 lbs.
- Work must be framed, or ready to install
- Submission fee of $35 for Members/$40 for non-Members
- Drop-off is first come, first served on June 26 beginning at 11:30 AM

The Curator's Choice award will be announced at 7:30 PM during the opening reception (July 10, 6-9 PM). Visitors can vote once for their favorite artwork, and the artist with the most votes at the end of the show will receive the Public Choice award, which awards a free Pence membership and a photo in the Davis Enterprise.

Our pop-up Night Market is tonight from 6-9 PM during the 2nd Friday ArtAbout! It'll be a hot day, but we hope you'll still come visit our air-conditioned gallery to shop from the participating artists and browse the other art on display. It'll be a lot of fun with the excited vendors and live music by Sammy & Lauren Leverone, plus other great art events in downtown for the monthly artwalk. Families made amazing cyanotype prints and collaged artworks at this month's Art in Action workshop. The space was thriving with energy and creativity as everyone got to experiment with different plants and materials. The project was made even better as the attendees could find inspiration being surrounded by Linda Clark Johnson's cyanotype artworks in her exhibit.

Save the date for next month's workshop! We'll be making pressed flower suncatchers on Saturday, July 25, 1-3 PM.
