is a living installation and educational community garden by artist . Located at the corner of St. Paul & Pennsylvania (directly behind the ), the garden will open to the public on May 16.

The garden will focus on cultivating climate resilient heirloom plants to reflect on the complex and brutal histories of migration and displacement, with a particular focus on Africa, the Caribbean, and the American South. By positioning culturally significant plants as living archives and witnesses to histories of displacement and communal resilience, this work mediates on the act of seed saving. Further, the heirloom plants and flowers grown at Amend will be available to the community at no cost.

Amend is part of the 2026 edition of the , curated by , in conversation with land stewards around the world. The project also honors the work and dedication of longtime East Village resident Jo Willie Branch. Her commitment to beautification through gardening has inspired a network of community greenspaces in the area.

We look forward to welcoming the installation to Little Village in the coming weeks, stay tuned for updates.
